Parties, Trips and Birthdays!
Lots of partying with the others at Cambridge Road over the last couple of weeks. Firstly at the Halloween Party that they hosted - plenty of pumpkin soup, spooky music and ghost stories to get us in the mood!
We also had our traditional fireworks at Hemmet House - lots of running up and down the garden launching rockets whilst ploughing our way through bangers, jackets and a fair few beers!
We also enjoyed a couple of trips to Stratford in London. We joined other Freewheelers on an exclusive tour of the Olympic Park to see how the Olympic Games will look in 2012. It was really interesting to see how the 'Big Build' is coming along and see for ourselves how the Olympic Stadium, Aquatics Centre, Village and Velo Park are starting to near completion already. All we need now are tickets for 2012!
Our second trip to Startford was also with other Freewheelers to see 'Reasons To Be Cheerful' at the Theatre Royal, a great night out and you didn't even need to be an Ian Jury And The Blockheads fan to enjoy it....
We've had birthdays too. Anthony chose an evening meal and drinks at the Derby arms for fifteen of us which was a fun night, and Mark arranged a birthday BBQ last night - in the rain!
So all that, along with a couple of trips to the cinema and visits to the pub has meant a busy couple of weeks. Party season has started in earnest - and we've still got 5 weeks to go 'till Christmas!
